At Risk Programs
Below are our key programs which focus on middle school youth.
After School Programs
The after school program becomes the foundation for other programs. During this program, students enjoy recreational activities, mentoring, and studies.
Mentoring
Think about the people who made the biggest impact on your life. You might think about one of your parents or youth pastor. Perhaps a teacher or school counselor comes to mind. These people were role models for you.
Unfortunately, positive role models can be scarce in the inner city. Single parent homes are so common that we are surprised when we find a father living at home and helping to raise his children. Role models too often come in the form of gang leadership.
We have found that our programs and outreach efforts become a natural conduit for us to role model and mentor youth. Positive mentoring is such an important tool and provides a wonderful experience for both the mentor and mentee. If you are willing to volunteer as a mentor, please click here to signup.
Leadership Development
Leadership development is an exciting program which provides young people with the skills and resources they need to become responsible members of society. This program includes: paid part-time internships, college scholarships, and leadership training for adults who become part of the Foundation staff.
